A Standard DBS Check contains a list of spent and unspent convictions, final warnings, and reprimands contained on the Police National Computer (PNC).
This level can only be requested by employers and organisations on behalf of their employees, making it one of the DBS checks for employers/companies, alongside Enhanced Checking.
Standard Checks are only available for positions that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 Exceptions Order 1975.
They are suitable, but not limited to, job roles in:
• The legal or financial sector.
• Those in education.
• People in care environments who have regular contact with patients (but are not in healthcare roles).

There is the standard DBS fee of £23.00 with the Admin Fee from as little as £3.97 (+VAT).
You can read more about pricing here.
A Basic DBS Check will only display unspent convictions, final warnings and reprimands, whereas a Standard DBS check shows those things, alongside any spent convictions an individual may have.
The role of the individual will decide which check is needed. If the individual is directly working with vulnerable children/adults, then they would need an Enhanced DBS check. But if they are only indirectly working with them, then only a Standard DBS check would be needed.
